Pedestrian killed in Tas hit-run

A man has died after being hit by a truck that left the scene in Hobart early on New Year's Day.

A pedestrian killed in a hit-run collision in Hobart early on New Year's Day is yet to be identified by police.

Police say they believe the man was hit by a truck on the Midland Highway at Brighton early on Tuesday morning.

The man, believed to be aged 20-30, has blue eyes, short brown hair, wearing blue and grey Nike shoes, dark blue trackpants with blue and white striping and a black Collingwood windcheater.
