A prized bicycle in the 1985 movie Pee-wee's Big Adventure has been placed up for auction online.
The red and white beach cruiser, which Pee-wee actor Paul Reubens refused to sell, has been listed on eBay.com and the current owner of the bike is attempting to lure buyers by handing over an autographed photo of Reubens and a letter of authenticity from studio bosses to prove it's the real deal.
However, any prospective buyers will need to assemble the item; the seller confessed in the posting: "Its (sic) in pieces now, but everything is there."
He purchased the bike in 2010 for $US10,000 and listed it with a starting price of $US8000.
Bids have so far reached $US24,700. The auction ends on March 7 at around midday AEDT.
