Pittsburgh rookie Conor Sheary has scored an early overtime goal to give the Penguins a 2-1 win over San Jose Sharks and a 2-0 series lead in ice hockey's Stanley Cup Final.

Pittsburgh forward Phil Kessel scored at 8:20 of the second period as the Penguins dominated regulation time in game two of the best-of-seven NHL series.

The Sharks went more than 11 minutes in the second period without putting a shot on Penguins rookie goalie Matt Murray.

However, San Jose threw caution to the wind in the final period and defenseman Justin Braun managed to drift a shot through a crowd in front of Murray for the tying goal with four minutes and five seconds remaining.

Braun has been playing in the series despite the death of his father-in-law, former NHL player Tom Lysiak, on Monday.
