Penrith have locked in another major piece of their NRL future after re-signing winger Dallin Watene-Zelezniak on a new three-year deal.

Watene-Zelezniak has been an integral part of their backline since making his first grade debut in 2014, and finally cracked the international arena with New Zealand last year.

The 21-year-old said it was a straightforward decision to remain at the foot of the mountains, where he is likely to be their long-term winger on the right edge.

"The decision to re-sign with the Panthers was an easy one to make," Watene-Zelezniak said on Monday.

"Penrith has been my home since I was a kid and it has always been my dream to play first grade for the Panthers.

"I consider myself very lucky to be able to live that dream at such a fantastic club."

Watene-Zelezniak's commitment leaves only a handful of their first-choice 17 off-contract at the end of the year, including Dean Whare, Sitaleki Akauola and Viliame Kikau.

The Panthers sit eighth on the competition with two wins from their opening five games after going down swinging in their most recent match against Melbourne on Saturday.
