The value of new personal loans rose 3.4 per cent in January.
Personal finance commitments were worth $8.707 billion in January, according to seasonally adjusted numbers from the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
Commercial loans, which include investor housing finance, rose 13.7 per cent to $43.766 billion, while lease finance rose 13.1 per cent to $394 million.
Housing finance for owner occupiers fell 1.0 per cent to $17.712 billion.
