Perth bikie hit 200km/h during chase

WA Police have charged a senior member of an outlaw motorcycle gang after a pursuit in Perth in which the man allegedly reached speeds of up to 200km/h.

A senior member of the Bandidos bikie gang has been charged after he allegedly reached speeds of 200km/h in his car while being chased by police in Perth's southern suburbs.

The incident occurred in Munster last week after officers tried to stop the car on Stock Road.

After the driver sped off, police gave chase at a slower speed while a helicopter monitored the car from the air.

The car then appeared to have engine problems and slowly came to a halt where police arrested the offender.

The 40-year-old man was charged with a string of offences including possessing a prohibited drug with intent to sell or supply and wilfully destroying evidence in relation to items he allegedly threw from the vehicle as it slowed down.

The man was refused bail and is scheduled to appear in the Fremantle Magistrates Court on June 20.
