Perth teacher accused of sex with student

A teacher at a Perth high school has been charged by police after allegedly having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old student for months.

A Perth high school teacher will appear in court accused of having sex with a 16-year-old student.

The 35-year-old northern suburbs man, who was a teacher at a northern metropolitan school, started and continued a sexual relationship over several months with the female student late last year, it will be alleged.

The man has been charged with five counts of sexual penetration of a child aged 16 by a person in authority.

He is due to appear in the Joondalup Magistrates Court in March.
