Petkovic in French Open tennis last eight

Andrea Petkovic will face Jelena Jankovic or Sara Errani in the French Open tennis quarter-finals after beating Dutch qualifier Kiki Bertens in three sets.

Andrea Petkovic reached her fourth career grand slam quarter-final on Monday when she outlasted Dutch qualifier Kiki Bertens 1-6 6-2 7-5 in the French Open fourth round.

The 26-year-oldn German, seeded 28th, will meet Jelena Jankovic, the Serbian sixth seed, or 10th-ranked Italian Sara Errani for a place in the semi-finals.

Petkovic, ranked World No.136 at Roland Garros last year, has climbed 27 and is enjoying her best season since 2011 when she reached the last eight in Australia, Paris and at the US Open.

Bertens, ranked 148, was broken at 5-5 in the third set as she failed in her bid to become the 10th qualifier to reach the quarter-finals in the French capital.
