Pharrell Williams has revealed his upcoming album was inspired by - and is dedicated to - women.
The Happy hit-maker, who attended the Brit Awards with wife Helen Lasichanh, is expected to release his second record, GIRL, on March 3.
"It's called GIRL - that should tell you something about our society," he said.
"Women are doing so much and I aim to just be a participant in that movement, for the equalisation and the equality. We need that. That's what we need right now."
Williams, who closed the 2014 Brits with a medley performance with Nile Rodgers and handed out the prize for best international male solo artist to Bruno Mars, wants to thank his army of female admirers with the album, which he describes as "festive", "celebratory", "urgent" and "visceral".
"The music has had an incredible fanbase, or what some would call family, and support system which has been women," he told British publication Metro.
