Phosphagenics appoints new CEO

Dr Ross Murdoch has been appointed to head Phosphagenics following the jailing of former chief executive Esra Ogru for fraud.

Phosphagenics has hired a new chief executive after its former boss was jailed for conning the biotech company out of $6 million.

Dr Ross Murdoch, who headed Prana Biotechnology in Australia and was senior vice president of Shire Pharmaceuticals, will replace Dr Esra Ogru, who was jailed in November 2014.

Phosphagenics chairman Lawrence Gozlan said Dr Murdoch had 25 years of experience and had successfully built and rebuilt businesses.
