Pies sign Moore, hope to lock in Langdon

Collingwood's Darcy Moore has re-signed for two years and the Magpies are hopeful they will soon confirm fellow defender Tom Langdon.

Collingwood have re-signed defender Darcy Moore and soon hope to lock in fellow defender Tom Langdon on a new AFL deal as well.

Moore was linked to Sydney, but fellow key defender Lynden Dunn's knee reconstruction made it much less likely that he would leave the Magpies.

Speaking before the first round of AFL trade meetings on Monday morning, Collingwood list manager Ned Guy said they hoped to lock in Langdon soon.

Moore will stay at Collingwood on a two-year deal.

Guy said re-signing Langdon is a priority before they see what deals they might arrange in the trade period.

Langdon has looked at offers from rival clubs.

"We'll hopefully have some good conversations in the next day or so and hopefully that will help get that done, then we'll see what else is out there," Guy said.

Langdon was among Collingwood's best players in their grand-final loss to West Coast, capping a strong season.

Moore only managed seven senior games this season because of injury.

Collingwood are keen to talk to Gold Coast about their co-captain Steven May, amid strong speculation he will seek a trade to Victoria.

Melbourne are also linked to the Suns key defender.

"If they look at doing something, we'd love to have a conversation but we obviously respect his contract at the Suns," Guy said.

"We'll wait to see what happens but I think every club would have interest in a player like Steven."

Collingwood forward Alex Fasolo also could be traded to Carlton.
