Pilot dies in NSW Hunter plane crash

The sole occupant of a light aircraft that crashed in NSW has been killed.

A pilot has died after his light plane crashed and burst into flames in the NSW Hunter region.

The light aircraft came down in bushland at Swayers Gully, near Maitland, about 4.30pm on Wednesday.

Emergency services found the plane well alight and the male pilot, the only person on board, dead.
