Top-seeded Czech Karolina Pliskova saved seven set points before beating Alison Riske in the final of the Nottingham Open.

Top-seeded Czech Karolina Pliskova saved seven set points before beating Alison Riske of the United States 7-6 (10-8) 7-5 in the Nottingham Open final on Sunday.

Pliskova, who battled a hip injury throughout the Wimbledon warm-up tournament, staved off six set points in the first and another in the second.

"I really didn't count on having such early success on the grass so I am feeling good ahead of Wimbledon," the 17th-ranked Czech player said.
