Prime Minister Tony Abbott says his government has no interest in lowering or removing the minimum wage.

While penalty rates, wages and unfair dismissal laws are being reviewed by the Productivity Commission, Mr Abbott has indicated the government won't touch the minimum wage.

"That's not something that this government is interested in," he told the National Press Club in Canberra on Monday, adding it was an issue for the Fair Work Commission.
