Prime Minister Tony Abbott will wrap up a two-day trip to South Australia with a speech to the annual conference of the Liberal Party's SA branch.

Mr Abbott toured a meat processing plant in the Adelaide Hills on Friday and will speak to the Liberal Party faithful on Saturday morning.

He says South Australians can expect to see more of him in the lead-up to the next federal election as he seeks to support projects that create jobs.

The latest visit follows a three-day trip to SA just over a week ago when Mr Abbott announced Adelaide would be the principal site for construction of the next fleet of Navy frigates.

His next piece of good news is expected to be federal support for the northern connector road project which will improve freight access through Adelaide's northern suburbs.
