PM's sister wants support for gay marriage

A number of Labor MPs have come out in support of same-sex marriage following the Irish referendum recording an overwhelming `yes' vote on the issue.

Prime Minister Tony Abbott's lesbian sister hopes her brother will allow his MPs a conscience vote on same-sex marriage.

"I'd like something more from the current prime minister, who happens to be my brother," Christine Forster told Sky News.
