Police await autopsy results on boy

Police are still awaiting preliminary results of an autopsy on a 10-year-old boy who was found dead in his Brisbane home on Sunday.

BRISBANE July 21 AAP - The results of a post mortem examination being carried out on the body of a 10-year-old boy found in a Brisbane home could take weeks to prepare for the coroner.

The boy's body was found at a house at Mackenzie on Sunday afternoon and police believe he died earlier that day.

Police are treating the death as suspicious and are still waiting on preliminary results from Queensland Health's Forensic and Scientific Services unit.

The full report, which Queensland Health said could take weeks to finalise depending on the complexity of the case, will then be sent to the state coroner.
