Sameh Bayda, of Guildford in Sydney’s west, was arrested on Monday after “a number of items” were seized from him earlier in January, police said.

“The man was the subject of a firearm prohibition order served on January 13, at which time a number of items were seized,” police said.

The accused is due to appear in Parramatta bail court via video link on Tuesday.

The arrest is not linked to Operation Appleby, the country’s largest ongoing counter-terrorism investigation.
