Five police officers have helped deliver a baby in a car park outside a Brisbane police station.
The expectant mum was being rushed to hospital early on Friday morning when her baby began to emerge.
The father parked outside Indooroopilly police station and called for help.
Two constables called ambulance officers for advice, while three officers screened the car with blankets.
The police delivered a healthy baby girl in the front seat of the car about 5.30am (AEST).
The mother and child were taken to the Mater Mother's Hospital in good spirits.
Superintendent Brian Connors commended the officers, saying they did an excellent job.
"Policing is often about rising to the challenge in unexpected situations," he said in a statement.
"In our job you never know what will happen next."
