Police are looking for the driver of a car last seen with a Melbourne teenager who disappeared before Christmas amid concerns for the boy's safety.
Chelsea Heights teen Cayleb Hough, 17, was last seen on December 20 travelling in a car being driven by another male.
Since that day he has not used his mobile phone, social media or accessed his bank account.
"He has been missing for about four weeks," Detective Inspector Jill Dyson told reporters on Friday.
Police have been trying to locate the car - a bright blue Ford Falcon XR6 sedan with registration SOG 812 - and want the driver to come forward.
"He's missed some significant events - he wasn't home for Christmas," Det. Insp. Dyson said.
"They're causes of concern for us."
His father, Steven Hough, says it is unlike his son not to contact family.
"It's very unusual that we would not have any contact at all for this period of time," he said.
"For him to miss a significant event like family Christmas, straight away a concern was raised."
Mr Hough says his family have been struggling with Cayleb's disappearance but hope members of the public will help them find answers.
"We have had some emotional days (where) we may have feared that there's something sinister, or the possibility of something that may have affected Cayleb's well-being, but we are keeping an open mind," he said.
Anyone with information about the car Cayleb was in, or its driver, should contact police.
