Police hunt for Vic man in child assault

A man is being sought by police after two children were approached and one allegedly assaulted in eastern Victoria.

A Victorian man is being sought by police after he allegedly approached two children and later assaulted one of them at Traralgon in the state's east.

A boy and girl, both aged under 10, were walking a dog along a street when the man asked them to help him look for his dog.

He led them to a nearby scout hall and then told the boy to leave before allegedly sexually assaulting the girl.

She screamed and both children ran away.

Police from the Morwell sexual offences and child abuse investigation team have released a FACE image of the man.
