Police interview possible wannabe pirate

Police are interviewing a person they believe may have pulled a knife on a security guard when trying to break into the Pirates of the Caribbean film set.

Police are interviewing a man they believe may be the knife-wielding pirate who tried to break into the Pirates of the Caribbean film set on the Gold Coast.

A search was launched on Tuesday after a man in pirate costume, complete with a parrot on his shoulder, pulled a knife on a security guard who stopped him from entering the set.

The wannabe buccaneer then fled into nearby bushland.

A man matching his description was spotted on the Gold Coast earlier on Wednesday, and police have confirmed they are interviewing someone in relation to the incident.

No charges have been laid.
