Police investigate Mehajer's video rage

Sydney property developer Salim Mehajer is being investigated by police after a video of him yelling abuse into his phone was released.

Threats made by controversial Sydney property developer Salim Mehajer are being investigated by police.

Footage showing Mr Mehajer screaming at his wife Aysha Learmonth via a phone was aired on Nine Network on Monday night.

Ms Learmonth reportedly walked out of the marriage less than a year after the couple's lavish August 2015 wedding.

"I hope you die, you f***ing slut. You f***d 12 guys, you slut," Mr Mehajer screams in the video.

He then threatens to harm her parents.

Police on Tuesday confirmed they are investigating.

Mr Mehajer claims he has been set up and has told News Corp he believes his wife was betrayed.
