Police seize half a kilo of ice in Qld

Police say a Bandidos bikie gang member has been charged for trafficking ice from his home in Strathpine, north of Brisbane.

Almost half a kilogram of the drug ice has been confiscated from a home north of Brisbane linked to the Bandidos outlaw bikie gang.

An anti-gang taskforce raided the Strathpine home on Friday, seizing drugs worth about $310,000.

Police said the discovery prevented 5000 hits of crystal methylamphetamine reaching the streets.

Another $89,000 in cash was found, some of which was hidden in the wall of a door.

An alleged Bandido, 64, was charged with trafficking and was due in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Saturday.

Detective Inspector Brendan Smith said the arrest was another example of the link between the distribution of dangerous drugs and criminal gangs.

"These gangs need to understand the community has had enough, they don't want them in their neighbourhoods, and we will be relentless in our efforts to drive them out," he said.
