Politicians will have to spend taxpayer money more carefully under proposed new rules that limit claims for travel expenses.
The Turnbull government has introduced another tranche of legislation that, among other things, puts in place a clear definition of "parliamentary business".
"This bill is the next step in the biggest reforms to the management of parliamentarian expenses in more than a generation," cabinet minister Josh Frydenberg told MPs on Thursday.
