A poll shows the NSW coalition government is cruising towards another election win next March, despite corruption scandals and the unpopularity of the promise to sell off electricity assets.
The coalition leads Labor 55-45 on a two-party preferred basis in the latest Galaxy/Daily Telegraph poll - two points up from the 53-47 result in the last Galaxy poll in May, a month after Barry OFarrell resigned as premier over misleading ICAC.
The coalition's primary vote is at 45 per cent - up two points since May 26-28 - with Labor down two to 35 per cent in the poll of 889 voters taken on Wednesday and Thursday last week.
In a sign that corruption scandals are doing little to harm the governments standing, when asked which leader is best able to tackle corruption in NSW, Premier Mike Baird scored 43 per cent to Labor leader John Robertsons 15 per cent, although 42 per cent said they were uncommitted.
