Western Australia's reprised Senate election is set to be another knife-edge ballot, with the latest opinion poll showing just one percentage point between the two major parties.
The Roy Morgan poll of 3000 voters across Australia, conducted over the past two weekends, placed two-party preferred support for Labor at 50.5 per cent - down 1.5 percentage points since the previous Morgan Poll at the start of February.
The Liberal-National Party polled 49.5 per cent - up 1.5 percentage points.
However, Labor's national lead was balanced out by the polling in Liberal-led WA, where there will be a re-run Senate election after a High Court ruling following September's lost votes debacle.
More than 1300 ballots went missing during a recount, with the error deemed so grave the Court of Disputed Returns last week ruled a fresh election be held.
Early April is being tipped.
The Roy Morgan poll showed WA voters as the strongest supporters of the Liberals, polling 55 per cent, clearly ahead of the ALP with 45 per cent.
"If an election were held now it would be too close to call," executive chairman Gary Morgan said.
Among the minor parties, the Greens' support remained unchanged on 10.5 per cent, as did support for the Palmer United Party at 4.5 per cent.
