Ponter continues Long-Rioli footy lineage

Danielle Ponter will follow in the footsteps of famous relatives Michael Long and Cyril Rioli when she makes her AFLW debut.

Adelaide utility Danielle Ponter is the latest member of football's famous Long-Rioli clan to play at the highest level.

Ponter, taken with the No.48 pick in the national draft, will make her AFLW debut in Sunday's match against Carlton at Ikon Park.

The 18-year-old is the niece of Essendon legend Michael Long and retired Hawthorn star Cyril Rioli is one of her cousins.

The Crows also recalled key forward Sarah Perkins, who has recovered from a back injury.

Perkins will replace cross-coder Jenna McCormick, who is playing for Brisbane Roar this weekend in their W League semi-final.

Geelong were forced to make a late change for Sunday's game against the Western Bulldogs, with No.1 draft pick Nina Morrison suffering an anterior cruciate ligament rupture in her right knee at Thursday training.

Defender Georgia Clarke will take Morrison's place.
