The drophead version of the Porsche 911 Carrera S and the Citigo, the smallest car from Czech Republic maker Skoda, have the strongest resale values on the German used car market, according to motoring gazette Autobild.
A Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet which has covered 60,000 km still commands a price tag of euro 74,838 ($A114,817) - or 65.7 per cent of its original list price of 124,730 ($A191,360).
That's according to a survey conducted by the car valuation service Schwacke. The annual report is in its 11th year.
At the opposite end of the scale, the book price for a four-year-old Skoda Citigo 1.0 MPI, with 44,000 km on the clock, works out at 4,170 ($A6,400), quite good compared to the list price new of 9,070 ($A13,900).
Schwacke analysed the prices of some 55,000 cars on sale in Germany, from sub-compacts to upmarket limousines and sports cars, to find those with the best resale values.
A large number of factors was taken into account, including specification, mileage, maintenance costs and general economic considerations.
