Port Adelaide expect a key trio to overcome injury and play against Carlton in Friday night's AFL match.

Jackson Trengove (ankle), Angus Monfries (hip) and Hamish Hartlett (ankle) all face tests this week but fitness coach Darren Burgess is confident they will be cleared to play.

Goalsneak Monfries and backman Trengove were late withdrawals from Saturday's nine-point win against the Gold Coast which kept Port in touch with the top four.

And Hartlett rolled an ankle against the Suns as the Power banked a victory which keeps them one win behind fourth-placed Fremantle with two games remaining before finals.

"We will go through our usual assessment process for all three players but we're confident Jackson and Angus have minor problems and should come up in time for Carlton," Burgess told the club's website on Monday.

"Hamish was put on crutches as a precaution after the ankle roll but he should be okay for Friday."

Half-back Campbell Heath, who had a knee reconstructed in late May using the synthetic LARS procedure, also is pressing to return in state league ranks.

If Heath resumes, Port will have only three players on its injured list - Jarrad Redden, Brent Renouf and Sam Colquhoun, who are all recovering from traditional knee reconstructions.
