Port Adelaide captain Travis Boak says he and his teammates would love spearhead Jay Schulz to remain with the AFL club next season.

Schulz's future remains uncertain as contract talks with Port have stalled while the key forward tests the waters with other clubs.

Boak says the 30-year-old Schulz's contract is something for him and the club to sort out, but the players hope he stays at Alberton Oval.

"As a playing group we'd love to have Schulzy still at the club. He's a fantastic player for this group," Boak said in Adelaide on Monday.
