Port upgrade AFL rookie Kane Mitchell

Port Adelaide's rookie-listed midfielder Kane Mitchell has been upgraded to the AFL club's senior squad and will play against Richmond on Friday night.

Port Adelaide have upgraded rookie Kane Mitchell to their senior list, paving his way to play against Richmond in Friday night's AFL match.

Mitchell, 26, has been in outstanding form for Port's state league side, Power coach Ken Hinkley says.

"He thoroughly deserves the opportunity to come into our AFL side this week," Hinkley said in a statement on Thursday.
