Porte third after six stages in Spain

Nairo Quintana has maintained his lead of the Tour of Catalonia after stage six ahead of Alberto Contador and Australia's Richie Porte.

Richie Porte remains third in the Tour de Catalunya after the penultimate stage.

Porte, riding for BMC Racing is still 17 seconds behind Colombian leader Nairo Quintana coming into the final stage.

Quintana holds the lead from Spaniard Alberto Contador by 7 seconds, having held the margin he took into the 197km stage six.

The stage was won by Italian Davide Cimolai who held off a host of challengers including Australian Orica-Greenedge rider Simon Gerrans, who came in fourth for stage six.

The week-long race through northeastern Spain ends in Barcelona on Sunday.
