Injured Port Adelaide defender Alipate Carlile has been ruled out of Sunday's AFL showdown against Adelaide.

Carlile missed Port's win against Collingwood last Thursday night.

"He has had some back and hip issues that flare up from time-to-time, he'll miss a couple of weeks while it settles down," Port's high performance manager Darren Burgess told the club website on Monday.
