Port's Trengove, Wingard ok for AFL opener

They didn't play a pre-season game, but Port Adelaide expect injured duo Chad Wingard and Jackson Trengove to be fit for the AFL season-opener.

Port Adelaide duo Chad Wingard and Jackson Trengove are in the frame for the AFL season-opener despite not playing a pre-season game.

And Port also expect to have midfielder Hamish Hartlett available for the April 5 fixture against Fremantle despite straining a groin muscle a fortnight ago.

Wingard (knee) and Trengove (shoulder) haven't featured in Port's pre-season games because of their respective injuries.

But fitness coach Darren Burgess says both will press for selection for the away trip to Fremantle.

"Both are looking good and should be right up there for round one," Burgess told the club's website on Monday.
