The body of Stephanie Scott is expected to undergo a post-mortem, potentially leading police closer to uncovering how the teacher died.

Ms Scott's burned body was found dumped in an isolated national park in the NSW Riverina region on Friday afternoon.

It came five days after the 26-year-old was last seen at her workplace, Leeton High School, near Griffith.

Ms Scott's remains were taken to the Glebe morgue in Sydney over the weekend and are expected to undergo a post-mortem on Monday morning.

It is hoped it will shed light on how the bride-to-be, who was meant to get married on Saturday, was killed.

School cleaner Vincent Stanford, 24, has been charged with her murder.

Police tape was removed from his Leeton home on Sunday after being a crime scene since his arrest.

Tributes for the English and drama teacher continued on Sunday, with dozens of hot air balloons in the sky over the town she grew up in, Canowindra.

Her parents also returned to Leeton High School on Sunday, where a shrine of messages, balloons and flowers has been building.
