Postecoglou to meet with FFA

Ange Postecoglou says he doesn't know if he's coached Melbourne Victory for the last time as he prepares for top-level meetings about the vacant Socceroos coaching job.

Postecoglou returns to Melbourne on Saturday morning and expects to meet with Football Federation Australia (FFA) officials over the weekend.

He coached Victory in a 2-2 away draw against Adelaide United on Friday night, but remains uncertain what the future holds.

"I coach like every game is like my last game in charge, that is what coaching is about," he said at his post-game media conference in Adelaide.

"You don't think too far ahead.

"But if you're asking me if I know that was my last game in charge? Then, no, I don't.

"I assume we'll have some discussions over the coming days, as other people will, and we'll go through it there."

Postecoglou is considered the favourite to replace Holger Osieck, who was sacked as Australia coach last Saturday.

Fellow A-League coaches Graham Arnold and Tony Popovic are also candidates to take the Socceroos to next year's World Cup in Brazil and beyond.

After the Victory scored two late goals to draw in Adelaide, an animated Postecoglou warmly applauded his players and travelling fans.

But he said his actions were not a public farewell.

"I was ecstatic for the players, for the supporters - I'm very passionate about what we're doing here and I wanted reward for what I thought was an outstanding display of character by the players wearing Melbourne Victory shirts," he said.
