Lucas Pouille has taken his revenge in the first all-French final played at the Vienna Open as he defeated Jo-Wilfried Tsonga to win his third title of the season.

The world No.25 lost the Marseille final to Tsonga in February but showed determination to storm to a 6-1 6-4 victory.

It was his first win over his senior countryman in three career meetings.

The pair will team up for France in the Davis Cup final against Belgium next month.

"I'm very happy, I've had a great week," Pouille said after his 71-minute win.

"I was very surprised to win in two sets, Jo is a tough competitor. I'm happy with how I played.

"I can't compare this win to my loss in Marseille, I just tried to play my best tennis."

Pouille won the fourth title of his career ahead of the Paris Masters starting on Monday.

"Lucas gave me no options. I'm happy for him, it was his first win in this 500 category," Tsonga said.

"I did my best all week against many good players. At some point you get a bit tired though. I fought to the end, but he just did not give me anything."

Pouille became the first ATP player this season to win titles on three different surfaces: clay in Budapest and grass in Stuttgart before Vienna indoors.
