Up to 400 electricity workers are meeting in Rockhampton to help finalise power restoration after Cyclone Marcia.

About 90 per cent of homes that lost power have had it restored since the cyclone crossed the coast last Saturday.

"Power has been restored to almost all urban areas," Energy Minister Mark Bailey said.

"However, around 500 properties still need to be made safe by a licensed electrical contractor before Ergon can safely restore power supplies."

Mr Bailey thanked the workers from Ergon and Energex who would meet at the Rockhampton Army Barracks on Saturday morning.

Power restoration in remote areas has been difficult due to access issues caused by fallen trees and cyclone debris, he said.

Some feeders in outlying areas of Rockhampton and Yeppoon, including Sleidner, Alton Downs, Bouldercombe, Stanwell, Water Park, and Keppel Sands are expected to be restored over the weekend.
