Australia's Will Power will aim to solidify his IndyCar championship hopes at one of his favourite circuits this weekend.
Power goes into this year's penultimate race at the Sonoma Raceway in California holding a 39-point championship lead after his victory in Milwaukee last weekend.
For the three-time championship runner-up, there couldn't be a better place to all but sew up the title than this weekend's venue.
In the past four years, Power has claimed three victories and three pole position starts at the 2.385 mile (3.84km) road course.
"Sonoma is just a very technical racetrack. It's a place where you have to really hit your marks and be precise," Power said.
"For whatever reason that fits my driving style perfectly."
Power, for a long-time the king of road courses in the IndyCar championship, has snared a championship-high 362 points in the 11 road course events so far this year.
But that has been joined by 240 points on the American-style oval circuits, traditionally the weakness in Power's championship tilts.
Having led the 2010 and 2012 championships with two races to go only to finish the year as runner-up, Power knows better than most that nothing can be taken for granted with six drivers still in contention for this year's crown.
In the past eight seasons, only three drivers who led the standings with two races to go have actually gone on to claim the title.
"There is still over 150 points on the table with (season finale) Fontana being a double-points race," Power said.
"Our path is easier now, but it's by no means easy.
"You have to turn up to every track, doesn't matter what it is, and know that you have a chance to win.
"I just think that's how you become a champion. I'm very determined for that to happen this year."
