Cronulla prop Matt Prior is facing a week on the NRL sidelines after being cited for a shoulder charge on St George Illawarra's Joel Thompson.

Prior was booked for the incident in the 20th minute of the Sharks' Friday night win over the Dragons.

He will only miss a week with an early guilty plea but will sit out two rounds if he takes his case to the judiciary and loses.
