England's players are on track to complete talks over signing their new central contracts before they fly out for the Ashes series next week.
Professional Cricketers Association (PCA) chief executive Angus Porter remains hopeful the new 12-month deals will be signed by the time the players board the plane for Australia on Thursday week.
The PCA is working on the behalf of the players in talks with the England and Wales Cricket Board.
"We're making good progress. We are hopeful we will be able to sign the contracts soon," Porter told Press Association Sport.
"I think it would be premature to say that it is very close. There are one or two details still to be sorted out.
"We hope to have it sorted before the players fly out to Australia."
Discussions have been ongoing for six months with the England players' value reportedly rising following their 3-0 success in the first leg of the Ashes series.
While the previous contracts ran out last month both the PCA and ECB have suggested that the delay in signing off the deal was because of confirming details rather than any disagreement.
