A Sydney woman found guilty of manslaughter for stabbing her abusive ex partner has been given a two-year suspended sentence.

Jessica Silva attacked James Polkinghorne with a kitchen knife after he repeatedly threatened to kill her.

It comes after the NSW government today announced that if re-elected late this month, it would create a register that records the names of domestic violence offenders.
