Protests planned against Vienna ball

Large protests are planned for the Austrian capital, Vienna, at the end of this week.

The event the protesters are upset about is known as the "Akademikerball", a traditional ball in the grand Hofburg palace.

 

Critics say this is not really a ball for academics but instead a social occasion for Europe's far right and extreme right groups and they want it banned.

 

Central Europe correspondent Kerry Skyring is in Vienna and spoke to Zara Zaher
