A senior public servant has been charged with abuse of public office after an investigation by South Australia's Independent Commission Against Corruption.

The man, employed as the manager of a state government program, has also been charged with four counts of dishonestly dealing with documents, commissioner Bruce Lander said on Monday.

The abuse of public office offences allegedly occurred between December 6, 2012 and May 16, 2014 while the other offences allegedly occurred between February 13, 2013 and May 16, 2014.

The 36-year-old from suburban Semaphore Park will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on July 24.

Mr Lander said the prosecution was instigated after a report to his office and a subsequent investigation.

The matter was then referred to the Director of Public Prosecutions.

It is the fourth prosecution launched in the past two months following ICAC investigations.

In April a 47-year-old woman was charged with almost 350 theft and dishonesty offences while a 61-year-old man was charged with six counts of abuse of public office.

Then in May a 56-year-old senior public official was charged with abuse of public office.
