Public servants in Canberra will get a long weekend for Anzac Day, even though it's business as usual for everyone else in the national capital.

ACT government employees have been given a day off on Monday April 27 because Anzac Day falls on a Saturday.

But it's not a public holiday for non-government workers.

Public servants negotiated the substitute holiday in enterprise agreements with the territory government.
