Public service probe gets global advisers

The Australian government has hired international experts to assist in a major review of the public service.

Former New Zealand prime minister Sir Bill English has been recruited to help review the Australian public service.

Sir Bill is one of a group of national and international experts hired to assist in the independent review which began in May.

Other members include former UK cabinet secretary Lord Gus O'Donnell, former Canadian cabinet secretary Janice Charette and the ex-head of the Singaporean civil service Peter Ong Boon Kwee.
