A senior Victorian senior policeman who was filmed being shoved to the ground by a racegoer doesn't condone her behaviour but can see the funny side.
The 25-year-old woman will be charged on summons after allegedly pushing Acting Superintendent Stephen Cooper into a garden bed with rose bushes at Flemington on Tuesday.
Supt Cooper, who was preparing to speak to the media about crowd behaviour at the Melbourne Cup, thought the "well-dressed" woman was a member of the press.
While on a mobile phone preparing for the press conference, Supt Cooper was caught off balance when she shoved him in the chest.
The video has become an internet sensation, with many news organisations showing it across the world.
"I'm certainly copping it from mates all over the world," Supt Cooper told 3AW.
"The only thing injured was my pride.
"I don't condone the behaviour, but I certainly see the funny side."
He wasn't injured in the incident but said his reading glasses were broken in the fall.
