The Adelaide Crows are sensing success with the attacking AFL blueprint of their new coach Don Pyke.
The Crows believe Pyke's plans are working, despite falling two points short of Fremantle in a pre-season game on Sunday.
"What we have been practising over the summer has come together pretty well," defender Rory Laird told reporters on Monday.
Pyke has ordered his players to attack at every opportunity through the centre corridor, focusing on slicker ball movement.
"We showed a fair few glimpses of what we have been working on over summer," Laird said of the match against the Dockers.
"Ball movement was a big thing ... and I think we displayed that pretty well.
"Team defence is still a work in progress but at times we displayed what we were trying to do.
"We really took the game on through the corridor ... Pykey has given us the reins to take the game on and we did it down the middle yesterday."
Adelaide's away loss to Fremantle followed a 100-point thrashing of a sub-strength West Coast in their initial pre-season outing.
The Crows next travel to the Gold Coast for a March 11 fixture against the Suns.
"We will just continue to work on what Pykey has drilled into us over summer, keep working on our key focus points," Laird said of the club's final pre-season match.
"And we go up there to win.
"Yesterday we wanted to win the game and we didn't, we were very close but it's still not a win.
"We want to build a winning culture and win as many as we can."
