Pyne resumes battle over universities

The federal government will again seek Senate support for university deregulation in coming weeks.

Education Minister Christopher Pyne says he will seek parliament's support for his university changes in the spring sittings.

The government has been unable to convince Labor or crossbenchers in the Senate to back a bill to deregulate the university sector.

"I intend to renew those (crossbench talks) with enthusiasm and my intention is to bring the bill back in this spring session and I hope it will be passed," Mr Pyne told Sky News on Monday.
